75.52 percent voter turnout recorded at 21 Thangdumbur Constituency By-election

Kargil, October 05, 2024: The Election Authority, Kargil today smoothly conducted the bye-election of 21-Thangdumbur, LAHDC Constituency, Kargil that recorded 75.52 percent voter turnout. For smooth conduct of the election, SSP Kargil, Shree Ram R; Additional Deputy Commissioner/Election Officer, Kargil, Suhail Ahmad; ASP Mujeeb Rehman; ACR/Deputy Election Officer, Mohd Sharif; SE PWD/Observer, Skalzang Dorjay; Returning Officer, Aashiq Hussain, ARO, Ghulam Hassan; Sub Divisional Magistrate/Tehsildar, Sankoo, Asgar Ali and other officials of District Administration and Ladakh Police were present on duty in the Constituency.

The officials visited all the five polling stations, strong room, counting hall, and the control room from time to time to ensure smooth conduct of the democratic process.The voters from all categories expressed their gratitude to the District Administration for conducting the bye-election for the 21st Thangdumbur, LAHDC Constituency.They also commended the district administration for their dedication and efforts in providing better facilities for voters to exercise their franchise using EVMs.Election Authority appreciated Ladakh Police, District Administration officers, polling personnel, all political parties/candidates, media, transport stakeholders, as well as all voters for extending cooperation for smooth conduct of polling.

PM Modi Chairs 11th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting; CMs, UT Heads Attend

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi. The high-level meeting brought together Chief Ministers of States and Union Territories, Lieutenant Governors and Administrators of Union Territories, Union Ministers serving as ex officio members, along with special invitees. The Vice Chairman, members, and Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog are also present. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are also present at the meeting.
