Mega Padyatra on May 3 to Promote Drug-Free Society in J&K

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged residents of Jammu and Kashmir to rally behind a significant public movement aimed at eradicating drug abuse during a Mega Padyatra set for May 3 at the TRC Football Stadium in Srinagar. This initiative seeks to unite the community in building a drug-free society.

Sinha observed a rising and inspirational movement across the Union Territory dedicated to combating the menace of drug abuse. He emphasized the importance of active participation in this padyatra, particularly among the youth. “Let us unite and work together to create a safer and healthier Jammu and Kashmir for future generations,” he stated.

The Lieutenant Governor’s message highlighted that community involvement is crucial for the effectiveness of the anti-drug campaign. He called upon citizens from all walks of life to join this effort, emphasizing that collective action can significantly contribute to a drug-free environment.

This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing strategy to raise awareness and enhance action against drug abuse. Authorities aim to inspire citizens to take stronger stances against narcotics by promoting widespread public participation.

The campaign focuses on educating the public about the dangers of drug misuse while fostering a sense of responsibility toward community health. By encouraging such movements, the administration hopes to create sustainable change and reduce the impact of drugs on future generations.

If the substantial turnout at the padyatra reflects any trend, it may signify a shift in public consciousness regarding drug use in Jammu and Kashmir. A united community response could create momentum that fosters ongoing awareness and action against drug-related issues.

In his concluding statement, Sinha stressed, “Together, we can combat the drug menace and safeguard our future.” The upcoming Mega Padyatra represents not just an event but a vital movement towards achieving a drug-free society.
