15 Illegal Structures Demolished in Anantnag Under Nasha Mukt Campaign

The District Administration of Anantnag took decisive action on Saturday by demolishing 15 illegal structures in a crucial operation at Waghama in Bijbehara. This initiative forms part of the ongoing 100-Day intensified Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign, which aims to eradicate drug-related activities across the region.

This crackdown underscores the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards drug peddlers and violations of the NDPS Act. Officials confirmed that revenue authorities, with support from the police, conducted the demolition of illegally constructed shops. These structures occupied State and Kahcharai land under Khasra Nos. 2494 (min) and 2495 (min).

Sources revealed that the demolished properties had ties to individuals involved in narcotics-related offenses. This focused operation not only removed these illegal structures but also successfully retrieved encroached public land, marking a significant victory in the fight against organized drug trafficking.

The District Administration reiterated its commitment to dismantling narcotics networks by disrupting the physical assets tied to drug trade. Officials pledged to remain vigilant and proactive, ensuring that sustained actions against illegal encroachments and drug dealers continue throughout the campaign.

The demolition operation serves as a crucial element of the district’s strategy to sever the supply chains of narcotics, directly impacting the illicit activities that plague the area.

Additionally, the administration has issued a strong message to the public, warning that anyone participating in drug-related activities or violating land regulations will face severe legal repercussions. Authorities encourage community involvement and vigilance in reporting illegal activities as part of their comprehensive approach to restoring safety and order.

As the Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign progresses, Anantnag’s administration remains steadfast in its mission to create a drug-free environment. The initiative not only aims to demolish illegal structures but also works towards raising awareness about the dangers of narcotics.

The fight against drug abuse, combined with the reclamation of public property, showcases the administration’s dedication to ensuring a healthier, safer, and cleaner Anantnag for its residents. Community cooperation is essential in achieving the campaign’s long-term objectives.
