Police Arrest Man with Illegal Revolver in Samba District

On Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Munna Singh, a 35-year-old man from Sohal village in Akhnoor, now residing in Samba district. This arrest occurred after police recovered an illegal revolver from his possession during a routine patrol.

The incident unfolded in the Bari Brahmana area, precisely near JDA Colony. Singh was moving suspiciously towards Kikri Morh from Data Talab when police patrols spotted him. Authorities noted his unusual behavior, prompting them to investigate further.

As officers approached, Singh allegedly attempted to evade capture by fleeing the scene. However, the professional response of the police patrol team led to his quick apprehension. Upon conducting a personal search, officers found a revolver in his possession.

Singh could not provide any valid license or legal documentation to carry the firearm, raising concerns regarding his intentions. Police have since registered a case against him under the relevant provisions of the Arms Act. Authorities have stated that further investigation into Singh’s background and possible connections is underway.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding illegal firearms in the region, with local law enforcement intensifying efforts to maintain public safety. Similar arrests over the past few months indicate a troubling trend of unregulated firearms entering Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials stress the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement to combat the issue of illegal arms effectively. Anyone with further information regarding such activities is encouraged to come forward and assist the police.
