RCB Demolish Delhi Capitals in One-Sided IPL Clash

Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a commanding performance, crushing Delhi Capitals by nine wickets in a lopsided Indian Premier League encounter on Monday.

Bowlers Set the Tone

After opting to bowl first, RCB’s pace attack tore through the Delhi batting lineup with ruthless precision. Josh Hazlewood led the charge with a sensational spell of 4/12, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided excellent support, picking up 3/5.

They were backed well by Rasikh Salam Dar (1/21) and Suyash Sharma (1/7), as Delhi Capitals collapsed to just 75 all out in 16.3 overs—the lowest total recorded this season.

Early Collapse Shatters Delhi

Delhi’s innings never recovered after a shocking start that saw them reduced to 8 for 6 within the first four overs. Abishek Porel top-scored with 30, while David Miller (19) and Kyle Jamieson (12) added some late resistance to avoid an even lower total.

Kohli & Co. Seal Easy Chase

Chasing a modest target, RCB made light work of the task. Devdutt Padikkal led the scoring with a fluent 34, while Virat Kohli (23) and Jacob Bethell (20) ensured there were no hiccups.

RCB raced to 77 for 1 in just 6.3 overs, underlining their dominant form.

Match Summary

  • Delhi Capitals: 75 all out (16.3 overs)
  • (Abishek Porel 30; Hazlewood 4/12, Bhuvneshwar 3/5)
  • Royal Challengers Bengaluru: 77/1 (6.3 overs)
  • (Devdutt Padikkal 34; Jamieson 1/42)

Takeaway

This emphatic win further strengthens RCB’s momentum in the tournament, while Delhi Capitals will need to regroup quickly after a batting collapse that exposed serious vulnerabilities.
