CEC flags off women progressive farmers for exposure visit, workshop in Srinagar

Kargil, October 11, 2024: Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today flagged off women progressive farmers of various blocks of Kargil for an exposure visit and workshop in Srinagar.The flagged off ceremony was attended by Executive Councilor, Aga Syed Mujataba; Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil besides other concerned officer from Agriculture and progressive farmers.Speaking on the occasion, the CEC Kargil congratulated the Agriculture Department for organizing the exposure tour for the progressive farmers of the district.The CEC said that this exposure tour will help to upgrade the skills of farmers and will enable them to know the modern techniques of farming.The CEC said that Kargil has a lot of potential in farming, however, due to lack of knowledge and proper training, people are little reluctant to put efforts in the farming sector.He stressed farmers to strengthen the self-help groups which in future will create a lot of potential to generate income. He also said that the chain of self-help groups will further train the local farmers and would be able to create a pool of modern farmers equipped with modern farming techniques. CEC Kargil said that there are a lot of locally produced products having potential to export them to outside Ladakh as well.The CEC also handed over a multi utility van to the progressive farmer from Thasgam Thuvina village which has been purchased through the LAHDC Subsidy component.

PM Modi Chairs 11th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting; CMs, UT Heads Attend

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi. The high-level meeting brought together Chief Ministers of States and Union Territories, Lieutenant Governors and Administrators of Union Territories, Union Ministers serving as ex officio members, along with special invitees. The Vice Chairman, members, and Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog are also present. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are also present at the meeting. Newly elected Chief Ministers and leaders, including West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari, Tamil Nadu CM C Joseph Vijay, Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar and Keralam CM VD Satheesan, are also present in the meeting.
