Ex-Councillor Shahrukh Bhatti Calls for Tourism Boost in Batote During Meeting with Director Tourism Jammu

Batote, Feb 24: Former Councillor Batote, Shahrukh Bhatti, today met Director Tourism Jammu, Dr. Vikas Gupta, and held a detailed discussion regarding the promotion and development of tourism infrastructure across the Batote block, including key destinations such as Sanasar and Patnitop.

During the meeting, Bhatti emphasized the immense tourism potential of the Batote region and proposed the development of scenic viewpoints along the Nashri–Batote–Patnitop–Sanasar corridor to enhance visitor experience. He also urged the Tourism Department to install proper signages and introduce a paying guest scheme to enable local residents to participate directly in tourism activities and benefit economically.

Highlighting the need for stronger visibility, Bhatti stressed that Batote should be prominently placed on the tourism map so that tourists can easily locate the destination, stay in the area, and enjoy the natural beauty of the entire Batote block.

Director Tourism Jammu, Dr. Vikas Gupta, gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured that sincere efforts would be made to address the demands. He further informed that a tourism promotion programme is planned in Batote during the months of May–June, which will include cultural activities such as a singing event to attract visitors and showcase the region.

Shahrukh Bhatti expressed deep gratitude to the Director Tourism for his supportive approach and for considering the developmental needs of the Batote area. He thanked him for his assurance and commitment toward promoting tourism in the region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi. The high-level meeting brought together Chief Ministers of States and Union Territories, Lieutenant Governors and Administrators of Union Territories, Union Ministers serving as ex officio members, along with special invitees.
