Regional Workshop on DISHA Scheme to Boost Technology-Driven Access to Justice in J&K

The Union Ministry of Law and Justice is set to organise a regional workshop in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday as part of its continued efforts to strengthen access to justice through technology-enabled legal services. The initiative aims to promote wider legal literacy and enhance the delivery of justice through innovative and digital platforms.

According to officials, the workshop will bring together key stakeholders to engage in informed deliberations on expanding and streamlining legal services across the region. The programme forms part of the broader outreach strategy under the DISHA (Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice) scheme of the Department of Justice.

The workshop will highlight the scheme’s implementation channels and outreach mechanisms designed to improve legal awareness and ensure easier access to justice for citizens. A dedicated segment titled “DISHA Yojana ke Aayaam: Sugam evam Sulabh Nyaya tak Pahuch” will showcase various initiatives undertaken under the scheme, including community outreach programmes, digital awareness campaigns, and collaborations with educational institutions and civil society organisations.

Another segment, “DISHA in J&K: Ek Jhalak,” will focus specifically on the presence and impact of the DISHA scheme in the Union Territory. The session will underline efforts made to promote legal literacy and improve justice delivery systems in Jammu and Kashmir.

The workshop is expected to serve as a platform for exchanging ideas, strengthening coordination among stakeholders, and exploring innovative approaches to ensure that justice becomes more accessible, transparent, and citizen-centric in the region.
