A fresh batch of 964 pilgrims in the Shri Amarnath Yatra departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu early Tuesday morning, continuing the auspicious journey amidst enhanced security measures.
The Zonal Police Control Room in Jammu confirmed the 27th batch’s departure at 3:05 a.m. in a well-organized convoy of 39 vehicles. This convoy included 21 buses, eight medium motor vehicles, and 10 light motor vehicles, emphasising the meticulous preparations for the pilgrimage.
This cohort consisted of 744 men, 177 women, one child, along with 32 sadhus and 10 sadhvis, reflecting the diverse range of pilgrims eager to undertake the sacred journey. With this latest batch, the total number of pilgrims who have left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp so far during the ongoing Yatra has reached an impressive 141,712.
Simultaneously, the 25th return convoy also made its way from the Baltal base camp back to Jammu on Tuesday. This convoy brought back 2,073 pilgrims, comprising 1,552 men, 461 women, 11 children, 41 sadhus, and eight sadhvis, showcasing the continued flow of devotees in both directions.
The return convoy consisted of 63 vehicles, including 42 heavy motor vehicles, six medium motor vehicles, 14 light motor vehicles, and one truck, facilitating the safe return of pilgrims who completed the Yatra. Officials assured that the ongoing pilgrimage continues to proceed smoothly, supported by multi-layer security arrangements.
Both the upward and downward convoys continue to operate according to a strict schedule, ensuring the safety and punctuality cherished by the thousands of devotees participating in the Shri Amarnath Yatra.
